Attorney Smith has over twenty years of experience in real estate law. As a partner in his former law firm, Attorney Smith was responsible for the residential and commercial real estate department, which closed between seventy and one hundred loans a month in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
Attorney Smith then sold his practice and accepted a position as VP of Settlement Services for Emax Financial Group. Of the above experience, the most critical lesson learned is the understanding and value of the trust required of the client referring business. Maintaining a close relationship, understanding the lender's work-flow, working with them (often offering solutions to improve efficiency and timelines), and tailoring the closing work-flow to make the process as efficient as possible is key to distinguishing the borrower’s experience and ultimately grow the reputation and good will of the lender. In addition to working with the lender, it is also important to note that the attorney is, in most cases, the last interaction the borrower has with respect to the transaction. As such, the attorney is in a unique position to make a final impression which puts all persons in the process in the best light possible.
