Linda Toscano Receives NHMR Community Service Award

Dawn Calvo, CEO of the New Haven Middlesex Association of REALTORS® (NHMR) is pleased to announce that Linda Toscano has received the NHMR 2022 Community Service Award.

Toscano resides in Guilford and is a Realtor with Page-Taft Compass. Her extensive community involvement includes the founding of Gavin and Friends in cooperation with SARAH-Tuxis. Slated to launch in 2023, Gavin and Friends will provide the special needs community the opportunity to expand independence and social interactions in a safe environment among unique spaces including a sensory room, media/computer center, exercise area, music room, lounge and recreational areas, and a mini beauty salon.

Toscano also supports Tunnels to Towers which provides mortgage-free homes and builds custom-designed smart homes for injured veterans, first responders and their families. She was also instrumental in bringing Project Lifesaver to Guilford, as well as other Connecticut towns. The program provides responses to save lives and reduce potential injury for adults and children who wander due to Alzheimer's, Autism, and other cognitive conditions.

Other causes she has supported include the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter, the New Haven Animal Shelter and Branford’s Community Dining Room.

“Linda’s record of volunteerism and community involvement exemplifies the REALTOR spirit of giving back to the communities we serve and make them better places in which to live,” said Calvo.

NHMR made a donation to SARAH Tuxis in Toscano’s honor.
